No. The QL-500 is equipped with a manual slide cutter lever located on the front of the device. After your label or batch prints, you simply slide the mechanical lever across to slice the paper tape cleanly. If you require a fully automated electric cutter, consider upgrading to the QL-570 or QL-700 series models.
Does this desktop printer require ribbon or ink cartridge replacements?
No. This hardware relies entirely on direct thermal imaging chemistry. The treated paper rolls change composition under targeted exposure from the heated electronic print head, completely eliminating the recurring operational costs of toner boxes or thermal ribbons.
Can I print wide 4.0 in. x 6.0 in. shipping labels on this machine?
No. The maximum supported media width format for the QL-500 tier is 2.44 inches wide. If your workplace prints wide-format cargo pallets, fulfillment logistics labels, or 4.0 in. x 6.0 in. shipping invoices, you will need a wide-format printer like the QL-1050 or QL-1060N.
