The Epson LQ-850 is a narrow-carriage 24-pin dot matrix printer designed for handling a variety of paper types and forms. Key features include bi-directional logic seeking for text and graphics printing a draft mode for fast printing of up to 264 characters per second (at 12 cpi) and a Letter Quality mode for high-quality documents. The printer features an improved control panel for direct selection of character fonts pitch and normal or condensed printing. It includes built-in parallel and serial interfaces and can be enhanced with optional accessories like a cut sheet feeder for automatic single-sheet and envelope handling or a pull tractor for continuous multi-part forms. The unit supports both Epson LQ-860 standard emulation mode and IBM Proprinter X24E emulation mode.
